Science truly took flight on 31 October at the Water Rocket Challenge.
Students of Grades 9 & 10 demonstrated remarkable ingenuity as they designed and launched rockets built entirely from best-out-of-waste materials, showcasing the perfect blend of creativity, sustainability, and engineering skill. Inspired by the UAE Climate Positive Kids Programme modules, learners ensured that each rocket was made from waste materials and powered solely by water and air pressure, mirroring real-world STEM challenges.
Their innovative working models highlighted concepts of energy efficiency, motion, and aerodynamics, fostering a spirit of hands-on problem-solving and scientific inquiry. This first-ever challenge at BRS encouraged students to think like engineers—to test, refine, and relaunch—building resilience and curiosity with every flight. A brilliant display of teamwork, ingenuity, and environmental responsibility, it truly embodied the essence of One Earth! ????
A special mention to our very own BRS Man Friday, Mr. Vikshith Shetty, for designing and building the rocket launcher that powered today’s challenge! Kudos to all participants and mentors for making Day 2 a sky-high success!!
